Our middle child, Daniel has a habit of sticking just a bit of his tongue out. It doesn't harm him or anyone else, but he looks like his tongue is swollen when he does it.
Last winter Patrick, my husband decided it was something to talk to the pediatrician about. The pediatrician ordered a very expensive sleep study. The result came back normal. Everyone was a little concerned why Daniel had this habit with his tongue. The doctor suggested we wait to see if he grows out of it. I personally thought it was cute.
Patrick's mother came to visit this summer and saw that Daniel and the habit and said immediately ,"Patrick used to do that as a kid too!"
Needless to say there was a lot of money down the drain on that one.
